This is my first ever requested post! Which is pretty exciting to me because that means people are reading my blog! :D
I have been seeing quite a few things in the media about celebrities not being treated with respect and courtesy. And I just wanted to throw my two cents in and to give some serious props to SLCComic Con go-ers!
Celebrities are people too. They have lives and families just like us. Jason Isaacs said it best when he said, "I shop at the grocery store just like you". With that being said sometimes things come up and they have to cancel. Which is extremely disheartening especially if you had been planning on them and have even bought a photo op with them. This happened to me with Alex Kingston one time. Things can come up and they can't come, unfortunately sometimes life works out that way. But we can choose to remain hopeful that they will come eventually. Alex came this last con and I was able to get a picture with her then!
And I would like to give serious props to our con go-ers on how we treat the celebrities that come to Salt Lake. We treat our celebrities really well and make sure to show respect and kindness to them! Stan Lee said about SL Comic Con "You people have the greatest comic con in the world"! And Chris Evans posted on Twitter "Wow....I've had the most amazing time at #SLCC15. I've been to a few conventions before but I've never had the opportunity to interact with the fans on such a personal level. They shared some wonderful stories that I was honored to hear. I'm filled with a overwhelming sense of gratitude. Thank you to all of my loyal, sincere, loving, and passionate fans from the very bottom of my heart. You've reminded me how gratuitously lucky I am. #weareallconnected ". Tom Felton did a documentary about conventions, he asked in his panel "Why didn't I come to Salt Lake for the movie? Next time..." We are obviously doing something right and I just say let's keep it up so we can keep drawing in amazing celebrities! We ROCK!!
PS- I went to Universal Studios in California and was able to go to the Wizarding World!! I know what my next post will be about!!

Tips on getting autographs at a convention
I have gotten an autograph at every con that I have attended. So hopefully I have learned a thing or two. ;) The first autograph that I got was Tom Felton's on Saturday at FanX 2015. The second autograph that I got was the Phelps twins at on Thursday at Comic Con 2015. The third autograph was Jason Isaacs on Friday at FanX 2016. The shortest wait time was for the Phelps twins, it was basically non existent. The longest wait time was for Tom Felton, I waited with my sister for four hours!!!
Autographs are pretty cool because it give you a chance to actually talk to the celebrities more so than in a photo op. Photo ops they try to get people through quickly which is understandable because of the huge demand. During autographs you get a chance to talk while the celebrity signs what ever you end up choosing. They have photos available for you to select and have the celebrity sign. I've always had them sign my Harry Potter books.
I only really have three tips for autographs:
1-If at all possible try to avoid scheduling an autograph on Saturday, for obvious reasons. :)
2-Be patient. Even though I had to wait for four hours it was definitely worth it! Plus, it is fun talking to the people who are in line with you. While I was waiting for Tom Felton their was an adorable little kid that was dressed up as Harry Potter, I was dressed up as Bellatrix Lestrange. He was adorable! He kept pointing his plastic wand at me and "jinxing" me.
3-If you want to have the celebrity sign something personal instead of the available photos make sure that it doesn't cost more. I have seen some that do and some that don't. It should say on the website or usually you can ask one of the workers at the Celebrity Row.

Tom Felton signed Harry Potter and the Deathy Hallows
The Phelps twins signed Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
Jason Isaacs signed Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
My goal is to eventually get all of the Harry Potter books signed! :)
